There are two types of frustration: Internal and external; Internal – Those are responses to challenges in fulfilling personal goals and desires or may be sometimes due to the lack of confidence and fear to face the social situations.

Another type is the external - the causes involve the conditions those are not in humans control such as any roadblock, or an impossible task or even sometimes the perception of wasting time.

What is frustration and what causes it?

Frustration is a feeling originated from the feeling of insecurity and uncertainty and also from the fear of losing to complete a task assigned by you or by some others.

Frustration mostly occurs when the needs of a individual gets blocked. He/she couldn’t achieve the goal he/she is pursuing.

The blocking of the needs is also can be of two types, firstly the internal blocking. It happens when the person blocks their own mind either due to lack of ability, confidence, and conflicting goals or due to some fear.

External blocking happens when the situation is out of the individual’s of hand. Like he/she may be expecting to reach office by 9:00 am but couldn’t due to a ongoing protest on the road.

Some people are predisposed to the frustration, for adolescence it is termed as temperament. Temperament frustration is associated with perceptual alterations including changes in perceived relationship affection.

The responses are dependent on the mental health of the individual. Frustration is classed under the mental health-response behavior.

J.A.C Brown said that severe punishment may cause individual to continue non-adaptive behavior blindly.

The tolerance capacity of frustration depends on the one’s ability to resist the anger while facing a difficult task.

Having low frustration tolerance is related to higher level of anger and high tolerance of frustration is related to lower level of anger and more patience.

A person having lower level of frustration has the ability to experience more difficulties in life and face repeated challenges. The process of giving up is slow for such guys.
